This dinosaur toured to local area schools in the 2005-2006 in the Florida Repertory's  Children's Theatre production of Dinosaur. The director was Jamie Carmichael.   This styrofoam head made it through the whole season without any damage except for a small dent on his forehead.

This page shows the process I used to create a dinosaur for the childrens play of the same name.  The dinosaur stands three feet tall and is mounted on a pole.  An actor wiggles the head up and down above a drop as part of the play.

The dinosaur is made of 2" styrofoam glued together.  I covered the surface with muslin and glue.  The teeth are made of 1/4" luaun I cut on the scroll saw, then glued into the mouth.  Finally it was sponge painted for texture and sealed with polyeurathane.
